Here is a short, but very informative, video-taped excerpt from a recent lecture given by designer Chip Kidd on “THE PROCESS” of Graphic Design. As an example Chip shared the design process for the creation of a “book cover job” for an Augustus Burroughs book titled, “You Better Not Cry”. The short version of this story, it turns into a nightmare quickly.

Augusten Burroughs Chip Kidd Book Covers

While surfing through YouTube the other night I came across this interesting video where Augusten Burroughs and Chip Kidd appeared at the Boston Book Festival back in 2009. They each gave a small speech and it’s pretty interesting to hear Augusten Burroughs’ ideas on “Book Cover” design. Plus, they revel a poster designed by Chip Kidd for the event. Check it out!
