Here’s an unusual video we found on YouTube the other day, it’s a Fun Book Review by a “female robot voice”, ha! Basically, it’s a summary of “The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy” by Jody Duncan Jesser, Janine Pourroy, Michael Caine, Christopher Nolan, & Chip Kidd. The book was recently published by Abrams Books and covers the history of the recent Batman Dark Knight Film Trilogy.
Here’s a LINK to the INKSTUDS Blog where Chip Kidd was recently interviewed by Robin McConnell. Their discussion is all about Chip Kidd’s new Book titled, “SHAZAM! The Golden Age of The Earth’s Mightiest Mortal” (Published by Abrams ComicArts, 2010 ).
This HUGE over-sized book features a ton of cool vintage toys, figurines, clothing, secret decoders, temporary tattoos, and other rare collectibles featuring Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr. and Mary Marvel.
It’s a short interview but very well done ( Thanks Robin! ). You can hear it, for free, by just clicking right HERE!
You can also order the book at 20% off the regular retail price, by clicking HERE!
THE ART AND MAKING OF THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY – New Batman Movie Book Review at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette!
August 4th, 2012
YES! We wanna thank the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for giving a shout-out to THE ART AND MAKING OF THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY Book published by Abrams! Yes, this is the one all about Christopher Nolan’s Batman Movies. Over at the STAFF BLOGS website they did a very excellent review and we always appreciate that. One clever angle they used in their article is the fact that some of the recent Batman movie, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, was actually filmed there. It was a huge success for that cities economy as it brought in a lot of money. But otherwise they really do focus quite a bit on the book and it’s a great read, check it out, CLICK HERE!

Oh man, we’re all so extremely excited!! In about 5 days (July 20th, 2012) Abrams Books will be releasing a brand-new “Batman History” Book right around the time of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie. It’s titled, The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy. In 2005, director Christopher Nolan redefined the Batman legend with “Batman Begins”, starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader. A fresh, dynamic reboot of the franchise, “Batman Begins” explored the comic book hero's origins and his evolution from Billionaire Bruce Wayne to Dark Avenger who fights crime and corruption in Gotham City. A 2008 sequel, “The Dark Knight”, took those compelling, character-driven foundations and raised the stakes, pitting Batman against a deranged master criminal, the Joker, in an all-out war for Gotham's soul. Now, the final film of Nolan's trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises”, is 2012's most anticipated film release.
The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy tells the complete behind-the-scenes story of these three monumental films. Based on in-depth interviews with Christopher Nolan and all of the films' key cast and crew including: Co-Writers David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, Cinematographer Wally Pfister, and more! The book reveals the creative process behind the epic Dark Knight Trilogy, supported by lavish art and never-before-seen photography.
The Authors who wrote the book are Jody Duncan Jesser and Janine Pourroy. There is also an Introduction written by Michael Caine (Actor who plays Alfred The Butler), a Foreword written by Christopher Nolan, and the book was designed by Chip Kidd (Designer).
