I’ll admit this blog post is kind of weird but it is also something that is pretty interesting to see. Plus, it’s sort of a way to pay some respect to some great people we deeply admire, check it out! Here are a few grave sites of some famous Authors: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ( Sherlock Holmes ), William Shakespeare (Romeo & Juliet, duh!) and F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby).

It’s kind of hard to read but Shakespeare’s marker says,

"Good Friend, for Jesus' sake forbear
To dig the dust enclosed here:
Blessed be the man that spares these stones,
And curst be he that moves my bones."

The Conan Doyle grave is located in a place called Minstead, in the New Forest, England.

His body is there (so as to be buried with his wife), but his heart is in Westminster Abbey. I’d imagine the photo is a few years old, as there’s been an old-fashioned wooden pipe on the grave for many, many years.

I only say this as my family have lived within about 10 miles of that graveyard for the last 500 years (and I’m not exaggerating when I say that!). It is a place I love so very much.

If you’re ever in the area, drop me a line, I would be only too pleased to give you a guided tour.

Jimmy.
