If you're a fan of the graphic novel, then this is your night! Chris Ware, author of Acme Novelty and Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth joins writer Charles Burns, creator of Black Hole, to discuss their latest work with esteemed author, editor and graphic designer Chip Kidd. Ware's new novel, Building Stories and Burn's new book, The Hive, will be talked about, but so will everything from the process of writing a graphic novel to the popularity of this genre- and if that wasn't enough, slides will be shown to illustrate the talk.
This book signing & lecture event takes place at STRAND BOOKS, which is in New York City, NY. The date is October 10th, 2012 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The event will be located in the Strand’s 2nd floor Art Department at 828 Broadway at 12th Street. Design Camp has been an annual event since 1980 & usually appears in late September/early October at a lodge in northern Minnesota. Design Camp sets the standard for regional design conferences. Its atypical three-day structure mixes indoor and outdoor activities with both educational and social events.
Featured keynote speakers set the tone for camp, and small-group workshops and creative sessions follow these presentations. Attendees (referred to as "campers") stay in lakefront cabins and condos, then meet in the main lodge for events and meals.
