Interview with Chip Kidd , graphic designer and guest editor of the US Masters in the University of Verona Publishing.
Here’s a quick post to share some completely wonderful book publishing news. On July 28th, 2015, Random House has plans to publish a brand-new, never seen before, children’s book by Dr. Seuss!! Yes, you read that right, they’re coming out with a never-ever-before-seen picture book by Dr. Seuss about making up one’s mind is the literary equivalent of buried treasure!
It’s title will be, “What Pet Should I Get?”. The basic story shares what happens when a brother and sister visit a pet store to pick a pet? Naturally, they can’t choose just one! The tale captures a classic childhood moment—choosing a pet—and uses it to illuminate a life lesson: that it is hard to make up your mind, but sometimes you just have to do it!
Just as a side note we should mention that Chip Kidd actually has nothing to do with the design of this book, we just LOVE Dr. Seuss, ha!
Over at the PEANUTS STUDIO BLOG awhile back they shared a few photos of Chip Kidd and the ABRAMS Book Publisher, Charles Kochman, as they paid a visit to the “Collections & Archives” Room of the Charles M. Schulz Museum.
This was in preparation for Chip Kidd’s next brand-new book on the work of Cartoonist Charles M. Schulz titled, “Only What’s Necessary: Charles M. Schulz and Peanuts”. It will be released by Abrams on October 20th, 2015.
Please stay tuned to CHIPKIDD.COM for future details and also please feel free to visit the PEANUTS STUDIO BLOG as they are always sharing amazing photos and stories about one of America’s true national treasures.
