Dan Greenfield, a writer/reporter for the always brilliant 13th DIMENSION website, has been interviewing a ton of Batman-related artists and writers lately and here is a shout-out for an interview he did with the designer and author, Chip Kidd (This is actually “Part 2” in a continuing series).

Anyone who knows Chip knows he is crazy about “Batman”, ha ha, so they get pretty serious about the character. In this segment (link down below) they discuss the BATMAN #1 “Famous 1st Edition” Treasury Comic Book, published many years ago by DC Comics, that reprinted the very 1st issue of Batman.

13th DIMENSION Interviews CHIP KIDD About His Obsession with #Batman Toys!

Dan Greenfield, a Reporter over at the always amazing 13th DIMENSION website, recently interviewed Chip Kidd about his obsession with collecting Batman toys and memorabilia. This “sickness” started at age 2 and has followed him his whole life.

Chip has actually written a few Batman-related books with some of them having a major focus on toy collecting, “Batman Collected” and “Bat-Manga: The Secret History of Batman in Japan”.  He also co-wrote a book on “BATMAN: The Animated Series” with Paul Dini which features a giant assortment of toy photos as well.

Dan and Chip talk extensively about the character and all the fun artifacts that have revolved around the Caped Crusader. The article is also loaded with a lot of wonderful photos that were shot at Chip’s NYC apartment (We didn’t have space to share them all here). In a recent article in their “Arts and Entertainment” section the HERALD SCOTLAND Newspaper interviewed Designer & Author Chip Kidd about his latest book, “ONLY WHAT’S NECESSARY: Charles M. Schulz and the Art of the Peanuts” (Abrams), which is in stores now.

They discuss Chip Kidd having total access to the Charles M. Schulz Museum Archives and the task of how to properly handle so much incredible reference material, the design process, and honoring the legacy of  Mr. Schulz as an Artist.
