Print‘s Spring 2016 issue takes a dive into the largest design capital of the world: New York City and Designer Chip Kidd is featured on the cover! This issue takes an exclusive look into the lives of design celebrities – from James Victore to Timothy Goodman, Jessica Walsh to Stefan Sagmeister. And then ask yourself: what makes a designercelebrity? And is there a difference between “celebrity” and “fame?”   All of this PLUS the winners of the Typography & Lettering Awards, the History of Helvetica and a Sneak Peek at Seymour Chwast’s Next Exhibit.

Oh yeah, and did we mention Chip Kidd is on the cover? Ha! Hey, this is a huge honor and we’re really proud of this, it’s very fun and so cool to be on a national magazine! Down below are some “behind the scene” events from the photo shoot. You can see Debbie Millman doing a bit of art directing and the official photographer for the project was Brent Taylor of CMS Photo.

In the UK, on the BBC channel, they have a TV Program called, “What Do Artists Do All Day?”. Each episode features a day in the life of a working Artist and the variety of fields covered is pretty interesting. I mean, they feature many people in both the “Fine Art” world and the more commercial “Graphic Artists” world.

In this episode (down below) we get to meet the UK Comic Book Artist, Frank Quitely. He is best known in the United States for having worked on “All-Star Superman” with Writer Grant Morrison that were published by DC Comics. (We would also like to mention that the Designer Chip Kidd created the special “Superman” comic book logo for this series of book covers). Enjoy & please remember to share on your favorite social media ;)
