Pantone, the reference for professional color standards in the design world, has declared a fresh, “zesty yellow-hue” of “Greenery” the Color of the Year for 2017. Over at the CREATIVE BLOQ website they recently shared a post titled “10 Famous Designers’ Portfolios and What You Can Learn From Them” and the really cool thing is that Chip Kidd made the list! I mean, seriously, it’s a great honor because the list of names also includes: Susan Kare, Peter Saville, April Greiman, Kate Moross, James Victore, Debbie Millman, Stanley Donwood, Jon Burgerman, and Jessica Hische! Hey, here’s some pretty cool “Chip Kidd” news! The GQ INDIA Magazine website recently added Chip’s book, “GO: A Kidd’s Guide to Graphic Design” (Workman) to their official list of the “TEN BEST BOOKS ON DESIGN of 2016”. Oh man, that is SO freakin’ awesome! Thanks GQ!!
A friend emailed me the other day saying that the official QUOTE ADDICTS website was going crazy with memes themed around the “idea of wise words about graphic design”.
