Zach Smith, a Guest Contributor over at the NEWSARAMA Comic Book News Website, recently conducted an extensive interview with the Book Designer (and Author) Chip Kidd about his latest book, “Only What’s Necessary: Charles M. Schulz and the Art of Peanuts” (Abrams). They get pretty deep about the creation of this book and the importance of Charles M. Schulz and the wonderful Peanuts characters that he drew for 50 years. OK, real quick, we want to thank Andrew Dansby over at the HOUSTON CHRONICLE Newspaper for writing such a wonderful book review for Chip Kidd’s latest book, “Only What’s Necessary: Charles M. Schulz and the Art of Peanuts” (Published by Abrams). Now, we had a link to the article all ready to go but today we found out that it’s only available online for a short time and then they make you register on their website to view it later.

VOX Video – What Makes a Truly Great Logo Design Stand Out?

Vox, one of the leading news websites out there today, recently interviewed the Designer Michael Bierut about the concept and idea of what makes a great logo. He is the creator of the famous “Hillary Clinton” political campaign logo and many countless others like: TED Talks, Saks Fifth Avenue, Guitar Hero, etc.

13th DIMENSION Interviews CHIP KIDD About His Obsession with #Batman Toys!

Dan Greenfield, a Reporter over at the always amazing 13th DIMENSION website, recently interviewed Chip Kidd about his obsession with collecting Batman toys and memorabilia. This “sickness” started at age 2 and has followed him his whole life.

Chip has actually written a few Batman-related books with some of them having a major focus on toy collecting, “Batman Collected” and “Bat-Manga: The Secret History of Batman in Japan”.  He also co-wrote a book on “BATMAN: The Animated Series” with Paul Dini which features a giant assortment of toy photos as well.





Dan and Chip talk extensively about the character and all the fun artifacts that have revolved around the Caped Crusader. The article is also loaded with a lot of wonderful photos that were shot at Chip’s NYC apartment (We didn’t have space to share them all here). Graphic Design News: #PANTONE Announces The 2016 Color of the Year!

Every single year the entire “Graphic Design World” is completely on pins and needles wondering what color chip will PANTONE pick for their 2016 Color of the Year. Well, for the next season they have picked TWO colors! The choices are Rose Quartz (13-1520) and Serenity (15-3919)! This is sort of a landmark event because it’s the first time in many many years they have chosen more than one color! Plus, they’re totally great! We love them!!
