We’re so excited about the recent “Chip Kidd news” shared by Christine Tenny, a Staff Writer over at THE DAILY COLLEGIAN, that we have to give a quick shout-out! Thank you Christine! This independent newspaper is published by students at Penn State University and we could not be any more happier about them posting their story.
Now, you’re probably thinking, “Hey, what is this about?” Well, Penn State University is the school that Chip Kidd graduated from and he donated a ton of his source material from his long career as a Graphic Designer. It is housed in the “Special Collections” section of the library and anyone, who is a Student, can enjoy it.
The collection includes work from his many book cover designs he has done for Penguin Random House, Knopf, Pantheon, and much more. It even includes the original cover artwork for Michael Crichton’s book, Jurassic Park. Which, also became the official logo for the popular movie franchise. But that is really only the tip of the iceberg. The collection houses a ton of photos, original art, proof sheets, and a lot more reference material than we can mention here.
